Brooklyn man, 85, dies 3 weeks after hit by car while crossing street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 85-year-old man who was struck by a car on Brooklyn street last month died Wednesday, authorities said.

The Bay Ridge man, Norman Frutcher, was crossing 68th Street and Bliss Terrace close to his home when he was struck, police said.

A 42-year-old man driving a Hyundai Elantra was reversing and struck Frutcher as he was crossing from the north side of the street to the south side, according to officials.

Responding officers found Frutcher lying on the roadway with head trauma. Emergency responders transported him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he died on Wednesday.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was not injured. He was not arrested. The investigation remains ongoing.
