The victim was attempting to cross East 183rd Street and Creston Avenue in the Fordham section when he was struck by the driver in a 2018 Mercedes Benz sedan around 7:30 p.m., authorities said.

After striking the victim, the driver stayed at the scene but a “disorderly” group formed around him which made him flee for his safety, according to cops.

The driver did go to the 46 Precinct after leaving the scene to report the crash. The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.

The incident is still under investigation by the NYPD.
