Bystander injured in double shooting on Harlem street: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating a double shooting in Harlem on Thursday that left two people injured, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred just after 11:34 a.m. at Lexington Ave. and East 126th St. when a man in black clothing fired his gun, striking two people, the NYPD said.

One of the victims, a man in his 30s, who was believed to be the target, was shot in the left foot and taken to Harlem Hospital.

The second person shot was a bystander, according to officials.

He was shot in the left leg and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have a person of interest in custody and an investigation is ongoing.
