NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 17-year-old girl was fatally shot in the face in Brooklyn on Wednesday evening—just the latest bystander caught in a hail of bullets in the city.
The teen was with a group of people in front of 1225 Eastern Pkwy. in Crown Heights when two male shooters fired about five shots into the crowd around 6:15 p.m., police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. She was later identified as Shayma Roman, who lived several blocks away from the shooting scene.
Police said she was not the intended target.
