NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Four adults and two children were injured when a car jumped a curb and rammed into them and a Bronx salon on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened after 12 p.m. on East 163rd Street and Prospect Avenue in the Longwood section of the borough.
Police said that the driver appears to have mistakenly hit the gas when he meant to reverse. He has not been charged and no criminality is suspected.
Witness Jose Rivera described the dramatic scene to WABC-7.
"He was parking, and as soon as he was parking, instead of him going forward, he kept on going back," he said. "And that's when the people that were online here getting food, they got pinned."

Rivera said he called 911 and "ran to see if anybody was trapped underneath or behind the car, because it was pinned against the wall."
"I told EMS how many people were on the floor, how many minors," he added.
Fatou Sow closed her salon as she headed out for lunch, and told NBC 4 that she heard a loud boom the moment she locked the door.
"When I turned and saw it was inside my store and I saw people on the floor, like five people, two ladies and two kids and another guy," the owner said.
WABC-7 reports a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, who are believed to be the driver's own children, were taken to Harlem Hospital while the four adults went to Lincoln Hospital.
All of their injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The Department of Buildings is on the scene to determine the building's stability.
