Cyclist dies after crashing into Manhattan park bench

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man riding an e-bike died after a collision at a Manhattan park Tuesday evening, according to authorities.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an aided male at the Henry Hudson Parkway bike lane near West 94th Street on the Upper West Side, officials said.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Jacobo Villano Pardo with head trauma, lying within the bike path.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that Villano Pardo was operating his E-Bicycle in the bike lane, when he collided with a park bench.

He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital-Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation remains ongoing.
