The 40-year-old cyclist was riding on 48th Street, between 18th and 19th avenues, in Borough Park around 10 p.m. when he struck an open door of the parked car, police said.

The cyclist fell to the ground, where he was hit by a driver in a second vehicle heading eastbound down 48th Street, according to police.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the cyclist to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was in critical condition on Monday.

Police said the driver who struck the cyclist did not remain at the scene.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.

Police haven’t yet released a description of the vehicle they're searching for.
