NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities have deemed the March death of a 2-month-old baby on Staten Island a homicide due to a drug overdose, police announced Friday.
Just after midnight on Wednesday, March 8, police responded to a 911 call of an aided, unconscious infant inside of 15 Arden Ave. in the Village Green neighborhood, officials said.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 2-month-old Paulie Khan, unconscious and unresponsive, with no obvious signs of trauma observed.
EMS responded to the location and transported the baby boy to Staten Island University South Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The city’s medical examiner determined that Khan died of acute intoxication after ingesting fentanyl, and ruled the infant’s death a homicide.
There have been no arrests been made as of Friday.
