NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The death of a 95-year-old woman has been ruled a homicide more than six months after she was found in a Staten Island nursing home with head trauma, police said Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Noemi Noto, was discovered lying on a floor at the Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Dongan Hills on the afternoon of April 9.

She suffered head trauma and was transported to Staten Island University Hospital’s north campus, where she died eight days later on April 17, police said.

A preliminary investigation suggested Noto fell and struck her head after she and another senior at the facility accidentally tripped or bumped into one another, a source told the Staten Island Advance.

Sources told PIX 11 that Noto may have gotten into a fight with another resident when she fell.

No arrests have been made amid an ongoing investigation by police and the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office.
