NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A diner was shot in the leg as masked men robbed the outdoor dining area of a ritzy restaurant on the Upper East Side on Wednesday night.
The robbery unfolded around 10 p.m. at Philippe Chow, a trendy restaurant near Madison Avenue and 60th Street that’s frequented by celebs like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.
The outdoor dining area was busy with patrons when two masked men, at least one waving a handgun, walked in and announced that they were stealing items.

A 30-year-old man was robbed of his Rolex Submariner, a watch than can be worth tens of thousands of dollars, police said.
The thieves then moved onto a 28-year-old man dining at the restaurant with his date, but he resisted and wrestled with the gunman, according to witnesses.
The diner was shot in the leg during the struggle.

Witnesses said the two robbers fled in a vehicle, possibly a dark-colored Mercedes SUV.
The gunshot victim was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition. Witnesses said he lost a lot of blood before EMS arrived, but he's expected to survive.
Police were searching for surveillance camera footage on the block Thursday morning. No arrests have been reported.
