WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A woman teaching her daughter to drive in New Jersey Saturday was confronted by another driver who shouted a racist slur and spit at them for taking too long to go through an intersection.

The dispute, which police said is under investigation as a harassment and bias intimidation incident, began around 1 p.m. at Princeton-Hightstown Road and South Mill Road in West Windsor when the girl took slightly too long to accelerate through the intersection.

A bald man driving a green or blue Subaru Forester with a Christmas tree on the roof, who was right behind their vehicle, began to honk his horn, police said.

The driver then passed the duo on the right and flipped them off. As they both came to a stop at the intersection of Princeton-Hightstown Road and Clarksville Road, the woman rolled down her window and asked him for patience.

According to police, the man then cursed and used a racial slur before spitting at the car. He then fled westbound on Princeton-Hightstown Road.

Anyone with information or might be able to identify the man is asked to call Det. Alfonso Robles at 609-799-1222 or the department’s anonymous tipline at 609-799-0452 or email him Robles@WestWindsorPolice.com.
