
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A driver was slashed in the face by three thieves who opened his car door and tried to rob him on Staten Island, police said Thursday.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the three young suspects they’re searching for in the Jan. 7 attempted robbery in Port Richmond.
The 34-year-old victim was sitting in his car at Castleton Avenue and Rector Street around 6:20 p.m. when the trio opened his car door and demanded his property and money, police said.

During the confrontation, the would-be thieves slashed him across the face with a box cutter.
The victim was not seriously injured, and no property was stolen, police said.
