NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Wednesday released images of two suspects wanted in an armed failed home robbery last week on Staten Island, authorities said.
At approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, a 48-year-old man encountered one of the suspects displaying a silver firearm in the vestibule of his apartment building in the vicinity of Henderson Avenue and Clinton Avenue, in New Brighton officials said.
A second suspect then approached the victim and forcibly took the victim’s keys from his pockets before trying to enter his apartment.
The suspects were unable to gain entry to the victim’s apartment and the man with the firearm fired twice in the victim’s direction before they both fled in a white U-Haul van bearing Arizona plate #AL55544 in an unknown direction.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
