Duo sought in violent anti-LGBTQ robbery in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is searching for two suspects in a hate crime robbery incident that occurred in Upper Manhattan earlier this week.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 16, a 49-year-old man was walking in front of 427 West 154th St. in Sugar Hill when he was approached by the two suspects.

According to police, both suspects began repeatedly punching the victim in the head and body while making anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks.

The suspects then proceeded to take the victim's cellphone and wallet containing approximately $200 and a credit card.

The suspects then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction. The victim sought medical attention by private means.
