NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A young girl and a woman were killed, and the girl’s father was critically injured, in a fire at an East Harlem apartment building early Wednesday.
The 5-year-old girl, her 46-year-old father and his 36-year-old girlfriend became trapped as a fire engulfed a sixth-floor apartment at the Jackie Robinson Houses around 2:30 a.m.
Firefighters responding to a 911 call at E. 129th Street and Lexington Avenue found all three of them inside the smoky apartment, police said.

The girl was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. The woman died at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. Neither of them have been identified.
The girl’s father was also removed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he remained in critical condition.
Three dogs were also killed in the fire, according to officials.
The FDNY fire marshal is working to determine the cause of the fire, which was contained to the apartment.
