Early morning stabbing leaves 1 dead near Brooklyn Museum, suspect at-large

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 35-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Crown Heights near the Brooklyn Museum early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Police responded to a report of an assault in progress on Franklin Avenue near Lincoln Place, just two blocks from the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, around 1:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found 35-year-old Kerwin Cox unconscious with stab wounds to his torso.

EMS rushed the man to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation into the attack is ongoing.
