NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Saturday released images of the man they say fatally slashed another man in the neck outside an East Village bar this week.

The 51-year-old victim was jumped amid a confrontation in front of Spike's just after 1 a.m. on Avenue A near E. 14th Street.

James Cunningham, a regular Spike's and lived nearby, drank a seltzer at the bar before he left, the Daily News reported. He then got into an argument with his attacker outside a nearby vacant store.

Police said he was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)
