
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 86-year-old woman is in critical condition on Saturday after a woman riding a motorized scooter in East Harlem crashed into her.

The elderly victim, wearing a white hooded jacket and carrying a handbag, was crossing East 104th St. and Third Ave. around 4:15 p.m. Friday when the incident occurred.
The woman is seen on surveillance video looking to her right as a few cars turn onto the street, the Daily News reported.
The 40-year-old woman on the scooter zoomed down East 104th Street from the opposite direction as the elderly victim was in the crosswalk. The scooter rider collided with the victim causing the eldery woman to fall to the ground.
The woman on the scooter stopped immediately and attempted to aid the victim with another bystander while 911 was called.
“(She) stopped and was checking her but she was not moving,” a witness who wanted to remain anonymous told the Daily News. “It looked like she wasn’t going to make it.
