NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Eric Adams made a powerful statement on the Met Gala red carpet: "End gun violence."

Adams, who attended the swanky event with girlfriend Tracey Collins, wore a tux jacket designed by Laolu Senbanjo, a Nigerian lawyer-turned-Brooklyn artist.

On the back of the jacket there was a large handgun with a red slash through it. Above that, reads "End Gun Violence."

The jacket was also adorned with images of NYC icons, including Brooklyn Bridge and Chrysler building, as well as the yellow circle of the N subway line and the MTA logo.
