Escaped pit bulls bite 3, including 2-year-old, on Staten Island

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A woman and two girls, including a toddler, were bitten by a group of over five escaped pit bulls on Staten Island Tuesday, according to police.

The dogs broke loose from a house on the corner of York and Prospect Avenues in New Brighton around 1 p.m., authorities said.

They bit the legs of a 19-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 2-year-old girl.

Emergency responders brought all three victims to Richmond University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested the owner of the dogs, though no charges have yet been announced.

Officials said there were more than five pit bulls in the group that attacked, but they did not specify the exact number.
