NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man was arrested for shooting at MTA workers who'd kicked him off a Brooklyn bus for refusing to pay the fare, police said Thursday.

Samuel White, 49, of Brooklyn, was arrested Wednesday following Tuesday morning's shooting in East New York.

He was charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Three MTA workers, including a bus driver, were fired on during the altercation, but none of them were struck, police said.

The shots rang out around 6:20 a.m. at a bus stop at Flatlands and Louisiana avenues, shortly after the shooter was ejected from a B82 SBS bus.

MTA Eagle Team members, who enforce fares, had tried to escort him to a fare machine at the stop when he grew irate, pulled a gun and shot at them and the driver, WABC reported.
