NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — New York City could be getting the first snow of the season on Sunday, though relatively low temperatures might lead to a miserable mix of sleet and rain, according to forecasters.

AccuWeather predicted the potential for one to three inches of snow over much of New York and northwestern New Jersey.

Lows in New York City on Sunday will hover right around freezing, which will likely result in a mix of sleet and freezing rain.

Motorists should be prepared for delays as New York City grapples with the storm.

The last time New York City saw snow was on March 27, and the last time any snow accumulated was on March 9.

Conditions should clear up around midday Monday, meteorologists predict.
