NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A driver who was stopped by police in Brooklyn on Saturday morning tossed a chemical liquid in an officer’s face and threw a Molotov cocktail at other officers before crashing his vehicle, police said.

It all started just before 8 a.m., when police stopped the 44-year-old man’s gray Lincoln Town Car at Clarendon Road and E. 45th Street in East Flatbush for running a red light, police said.

When an officer approached the Town Car, the man threw a chemical liquid at the officer’s face, according to police, who said the cop suffered blurry vision and minor facial injuries.

The driver then fled in the Town Car, but backup officers in a marked patrol car found him at 5505 Snyder Ave., police said.

That’s when the man got out of the car and threw a lit Molotov cocktail at the officers, according to police. The flaming, liquid-filled bottle bounced off the patrol car and hit the street. The officers weren't injured.

The man then got back in the car and drove off before crashing about a block away at 5419 Snyder Ave., where officers pulled him out of the vehicle and arrested him without incident, police said.
