NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A dangerous nor'easter was slamming the Tri-State on Monday, with some areas seeing 2 feet or more of snow amid whipping wind gusts.
Blizzard conditions were reported with snowfall rates of 2-3 inches per hour and wind gusts of 50-60 mph. By Monday afternoon, over 19.7 inches had fallen in Central Park. Parts of North Jersey and Long Island got nearly 30 inches of snow, including 29.5 inches in Babylon, Suffolk County, and 27.1 inches at Newark Airport.

The snow is set to taper off Monday afternoon. When all is said and done, much of the area is expected to have well over a foot of snow, with many areas getting over 2 feet.
"So far, no loss of life associated with this storm, but it's not over yet, and we don't want to get complacent," Hochul told 1010 WINS, crediting New Yorkers with staying off the roads during the "epic" storm.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani also said no fatalities with the storm had been reported in the city. He said school would be back in-person on Tuesday.
