NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD is searching for three people who they said threw a trash can at a woman, causing serious injuries, during a dispute inside a Bronx department store earlier this month.

The incident happened on Dec. 9 at 5:40 p.m. inside a Burlington Coat Factory location on Webster Avenue in the Fordham Manor neighborhood.
The trio and a 42-year-old woman appeared to be involved in some sort of dispute inside the store and the situation escalated when one of the attackers allegedly picked up a metal garbage can and threw it at the victim.
Video footage from inside the store showed a large commotion and a metal object being thrown over a crowd of people.

The garbage can ended up striking the woman in the face and she was seriously injured, requiring transportation to St. Barnabas Hospital, according to police.
The suspects fled the store on foot.
Police released photos of the suspects on Monday and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
