NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 9-year-old girl was killed in a Brooklyn house fire on Friday morning, authorities said.
The three-alarm fire broke out on the second floor of the Howard Avenue home just before 5:30 a.m., fire officials said.
The FDNY confirmed one person was found dead on the top floor of the home.
The victim is a 9-year-old girl, police said.
More than 130 FDNY members responded to the fire, which was brought under control just after 7:20 a.m. One firefighter suffered a minor injury, the FDNY said.
While battling the fire, firefighters encountered heavy clutter conditions, ABC 7 reported.
It wasn't immediately clear how the fire started.
The cause is under investigation.
