NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for the a group who punched a man in an unprovoked attack on a Brooklyn street on Tuesday, authorities said.
Just before 1 p.m., a 66-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in front of 614 Brighton Beach Ave. in Brighton Beach, when the suspects approached him and began to punch him in the back of the head with a closed fist causing pain and swelling.

The suspects then fled on foot on Brighton 7th Street, police said.
The victim was a retired cop, according to the New York Post.
He refused medical attention and an investigation remains ongoing.
