NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was arrested after he allegedly swung a dog into a wall by a leash at a Harlem apartment building, police said Tuesday.

Brian Mendez was arrested Sunday on charges of torturing/injuring an animal and animal carried in a cruel manner.

The 25-year-old allegedly abused the animal in a hallway of his building on W. 141st Street, near Fifth Avenue.

A witness told police Saturday that they saw Mendez slam the dog into a wall.

Doorbell video shows Mendez swinging the dog by a leash and into the wall, police said.

The condition of the dog wasn’t immediately known.

It’s unclear if Mendez is the owner of the dog.
