NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police arrested a man on Wednesday they suspect was responsible for the hit-and-run crash that killed a five-year-old boy at the start of September.

Xavier Carchipull, 40, was responsible for hitting Jonathan Martinez with a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on Sept. 1 around 5:30 p.m. near LaGuardia Airport, according to authorities.
Officers arrested Carchipull around 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
He faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, aggravated operating a vehicle without a license and related offenses.
