Hit-run driver kills woman, 62, in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 62-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Tuesday, police said.

The woman was crossing Pennsylvania Avenue near Linden Boulevard in East New York just before 1 a.m. when she fell onto the roadway mid-block, according to police.

The driver ran her over as she was lying on the street, police said.

The victim suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not been identified.

Police are searching for the driver, who they said didn't stop. A description of the vehicle hasn't been released.
