NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a dump truck fatally struck a woman in a crosswalk at an intersection in the Bronx on Monday.

The woman was struck as the truck was making a left turn from Hutchinson River Parkway East onto Einstein Loop North in Co-Op City around 12:45 p.m., authorities said.
The driver took off after the incident but later returned, according to authorities.
The driver has not been charged and an investigation is ongoing.
Police have not released the names of the driver or woman who was struck.
