
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who ran down and seriously injured an 81-year-old woman crossing a street in Queens this week.
The NYPD released surveillance images Wednesday of the Acura SUV suspected of hitting the woman Monday afternoon in Jackson Heights.
The SUV was traveling eastbound on Roosevelt Avenue around 2:20 p.m. when it struck the woman as she crossed the busy avenue at 94th Street.

After plowing into the woman, the driver continued to head eastbound on Roosevelt Avenue, police said.
The victim suffered serious injuries in the crash, police said.
She was transported in serious but stable condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.
