'I THINK THIS IS A BOMB': Bomb squad responds after man leaves box with gun at FDNY firehouse in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man placed a locked box with a gun outside of a Brooklyn FDNY station on Sunday evening, prompting a police response after he claimed it was a bomb, police said.

The unidentified man approached FDNY Engine 290 on Mary Warren Place near Livonia Avenue in Brownsville and placed the locked box on the ground around 6:50 p.m., according to police.

The man then allegedly said, "I think this is a bomb."

The NYPD's Bomb Squad responded and determined a gun was inside, police said.

No arrests have been reported as of Monday morning.
