NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Rapper Jay-Z reportedly slammed the perfume company suing him, calling their marketing and advertising strategies “lazy” and “crappy” while testifying in Manhattan Supreme Court Monday.

The Brooklyn native made the comments during his second day testifying in a breach of contract lawsuit brought by Parlux, the brand carrying his signature cologne, Gold Jay Z.
“I’ve always had problems with the quality of lazy work that was coming from Parlux,” Jay-Z said in court, the Daily News reported.
The “Brooklyn’s Finest” rapper reportedly took issue with Parlux’s sale of the cologne in Superdrug, a UK-based discount drugstore, which he felt cheapened the product, according to the New York Post. He argued that he never approved the product’s sale at the shop.
“We are trying to build a brand,” Jay-Z said. “You’re almost cutting the legs off from the brand [by] putting it in discount stores.”
In an e-mail presented in court Monday, Jay-Z also ripped the brand for a commercial it put out for his fragrance showing liquid gold being dripped on a woman’s body.
“It’s a B-rate commercial and my name is on it,” he reportedly wrote in the e-mail at the time.
“It’s crappy, lazy work,” he said Monday.
When asked by his lawyer, Jazy-Z insisted he didn’t want the fragrance to fail, adding that he had never put out a product with his name on it before.
“It was a tough relationship but I was still trying to create something amazing,” he reportedly said.
