Police said the wounded victim left a trail of blood once he returned to VIT Car Service base on White Plains Road near Archer Street in Parkchester.

The man was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition once officers responded around 2 a.m., according to police, who told the New York Daily News he was driving near the base when he was shot in the chest. He also suffered a graze wound to the face.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said.

Investigators are reportedly probing whether a passenger shot the driver.
