NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A gunman walked up to a 24-year-old man in Far Rockaway on Monday evening and fatally shot him in the head, police said.

The victim was outside a building on Redfern Avenue in the Redfern Houses around 6:20 p.m. when he was shot by a man wearing a white t-shirt.
Officers responding to a 911 call of shots fired found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been identified.
The gunman fled towards Beach 12th Street after the shooting, police said.
No arrests have been reported as of Tuesday.
Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene by investigators, police said, as the investigation continues.
