The NYPD released images Monday of the suspects—two men in hard hats, face masks and reflective shirts who are believed to be between 25 and 35 years old.
The boy was in an apartment near 61st Street and Sixth Avenue in Sunset Park around 8 p.m. when the men snuck in through an unlocked door to the building’s hallway.

The men rang the apartment doorbell, and when the boy answered, they both struck him in the neck with an unknown object, according to police, who said the men also tried to put tape over his mouth.
The boy yelled for help, causing the men to run out of the building empty-handed to a gray Nissan, which they used to flee the area, police said.
The victim was treated by EMS at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
