NEW YORK (1010 WINS) --- A man accused of fatally stabbing a man during a knife fight on a Queens street last month was charged, authorities said Wednesday.

At about 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 27, Nicholas Loiacono, 27, was walking on Queens Boulevard near 70th Road in Forest Hills when he made a comment to Gerard Moreno, 30, which sparked an argument that escalated and turned physical, police said.

Both men pulled out "cutting instruments" and Moreno was stabbed in the chest, cops said.

Loiacono fled the scene but later returned and was not charged at that time.

Moreno was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he died Saturday from his injuries, officials said.

Loiacono was charged with menacing and attempted criminal possession of a weapon on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
