NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in the stairwell of a Brooklyn NYCHA housing complex late Monday night, authorities said.
At approximately 11 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a bleeding, unconscious male inside of the Nostrand Houses located on Batchelder Street in Sheepshead Bay, officials said.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the head, within the first-floor stairwell area.
Responding EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.
There are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.
