Man, 61, killed in Queens house fire

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Officials are investigating after one man was killed in a house fire in Queens early Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.

At about 4:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a residential fire inside of 114-35 Bedell St. in South Jamaica.

Fire Department personnel responded and were able to extinguish the fire inside of the location.

Police observed 61-year-old Colin Cyrus unresponsive and unconscious, with severe burns to his body.

EMS responded to the location and pronounced Cyrus dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire is to be determined by NYC Fire Marshal. There does not appear to be any signs of criminality at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
