Man, 66, beaten during attempted robbery on Queens street, suspect sought: officials

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a man wanted for beating a man in an attempted robbery on a Queens street last week, officials said.

A 66-year-old man was approached by the suspect in front of 100-01 Northern Boulevard in Corona, at approximately 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, authorities said.

The suspect punched the victim in the head in an unprovoked attack and removed the victim’s cellphone by force, police said.

The victim was able to successfully recover the cellphone and the suspect fled on foot towards 101st St. and Northern Blvd., authorities said.

The victim refused medical attention.
