Man, 71, pistol-whipped in armed robbery at Inwood barbershop, 2 suspects sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for two armed men wanted for pistol whipping a 71-year-old man during an armed robbery inside an Upper Manhattan barbershop last week, authorities said.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Monday, February 27, the suspects entered Bayacan Barbershop located at 131 Post Ave. in Inwood, the NYPD said.

Once inside, the suspects displayed firearms and demanded money and property.

The victim was struck in the head with the firearm and sustained a laceration, officials said.

The suspects stole approximately $200, multiple cellphones and fled in a gray Ford Fusion southbound on Post Avenue to parts unknown, authorities said.

The victim was transported to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.

The first suspect was last seen wearing a labor union vest, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers, black face mask and a gray knit cap.

The second suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a black LA Dodgers baseball cap.
