NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A man was arrested Thursday after a 13-year-old walking home from school was thrown to the ground and sexually assaulted in the Bronx, police said early Friday.
Rahmel Bali, 18, faces charges of criminal sex act, attempted sex abuse, criminal obstruction of breathing, assault and harassment.
Police said the victim was walking in Crotona Park just after 2:30 p.m. Monday when a man grabbed them, threw them to the ground and removed their leggings.
The man then sexually assaulted the teen before fleeing with their cellphone, police said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for a medical evaluation and later released.
