NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A suspect has been arrested for a Harlem triple shooting that wounded an 8-year-old girl trick-or-treating with her father on Halloween in 2020, police said Friday.
Terrell Owens, 30, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with three counts each of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
Owens was identified for questioning in Dec. 2020 after the shooting.
Around 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2020, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot on Lenox Avenue near West 117th Street. Police said when they arrived, officers found a 36-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the right arm.
A short time later, police were notified of two additional victims as a result of the same shooting. A 39-year-old man and his daughter were wounded while trick-or-treating, PIX 11 reported.
According to police, the man was shot in the right arm, while the girl was struck in the right knee.
All three victims were hospitalized in stable condition.
Surveillance video recovered by police at the time showed two men arguing, which escalated into a physical confrontation before the shooting.
Police said both men were seen firing several bullets at each other, with stray bullets striking the victims.
