NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 28-year-old man was critically hurt after he fell off his moving car in Queens on Monday night as thieves tried to steal it, police said.
According to police, the victim was standing outside his still-running Lexus at Lefferts Boulevard and Liberty Avenue in South Richmond Hill around 9:45 p.m. when the three suspects jumped into his car.
He grabbed onto the roof rack of his Lexus as the trio sped down the street, police said.
However, the driver struck a fire hydrant, causing the 28-year-old to fly off the car and the car to flip over.
Police said the victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Two of the three suspects were arrested, while one remains at large.
