
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man struck by a vehicle in a Brooklyn hit-and-run, died days after the collision, officials said Friday.
Police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck on Avenue D in the vicinity of East 101 Street in Canarsie at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24.

A preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was attempting to cross at the location when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound on Avenue D, east of East 101 Street.
EMS transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital, in critical condition with trauma to the head and body, where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, September 28.
The vehicle did not remain on scene, authorities said.
An investigation remains ongoing.
