NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Authorities are investigating the stabbing death of a 37-year-old man during a dispute at a Brooklyn smoke shop Tuesday night, the NYPD said.
Police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress in front of 248 4th Ave. in Gowanus at approximately 10:30 p.m., officials said.

Upon arrival, officers observed the victim with a stab wound to the abdomen and neck.
A preliminary investigation determined that a verbal dispute ensued between the victim and an unknown individual inside of the smoke shop.
As the dispute escalated, both men exited the store. The man then proceeded to display an unknown sharp object and stab the victim, according to officials.
Police sources told the Daily News that the two got into an argument when one didn’t hold the door open for the other.
The suspect fled southbound on 4th Avenue towards Carroll Street on an e-bike.
EMS responded and transported the aided male to New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
The identification of the victim is pending family notification.
