Man found fatally stabbed in Staten Island home; person of interest in custody

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have a person of interest in custody for fatally stabbing a man inside a Staten Island home Sunday night, authorities said.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at a residence located at 12 Union Ave. in Mariners Harbor.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 38-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to the body.

The victim was transported to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

A 58-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.

An investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
