NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man fell to his death as he climbed the Manhattan Bridge to escape the scene of a car crash early Tuesday, police said.
The 25-year-old was in a two-vehicle collision at 1:45 a.m. on the inbound, lower level of the bridge.
Instead of staying at the scene, he ran away and tried to climb the bridge.
While scaling the bridge on the Manhattan side, he apparently lost his footing and plummeted to the street below.
An investigation into his death and the initial crash are ongoing.
He has not yet been identified by police.
