Man found beaten in Brooklyn apartment dies weeks later, deemed homicide by police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man died weeks after he was found with injuries to his head and face during a wellness check inside a Brooklyn apartment, authorities said Friday.

Officials were called for a wellness check of a man at an apartment located at 488 Lefferts Ave. in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, on Saturday, June 18, at approximately 1:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers encountered 39-year-old Michael Sydnor with trauma to his head and face.

EMS transported Sydnor to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, July 3, the NYPD said.

The incident has been deemed a homicide.

No arrests have been reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
